News and Upcoming Events

Here you will find all the latest news and details of upcoming events, including entry forms (as appropriate).

V.I.B.E. Newsletters
Despite several appeals for someone to step forward to resurrect the Newsletter, no-one has done so. Whilst this website is the main method of keeping members and others informed, we recognise that not everyone has internet access and David Stott (National Development Officer) has now offered to take on editorship of a twice-yearly Newsletter to be published in April and October.
The Newsletter will be sent to members electronically (for those with known email addresses), will be available to download and print from this website (Documents and Resources page) and there will be an audio file, again downloadable from the website.
For members without internet access, printed copies or an audio file on CD can be sent by post - BUT WE NEED TO KNOW WHO WANTS THIS!
Please contact David Stott if you would like either a paper copy or CD version.  Mob: 07769 568680
AUDIO VERSION AVAILABLE SOON

V.I.B.E. and Disability Bowls England (D.B.E.)               Have worked together to support bowls for the visually impaired and to promote bowls for the whole disabled community for many years.
Unfortunately, DBE will formally 'cease to be' on 31st December 2024, with disability bowls in general being overseen and promoted by Bowls England (BE) and the English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd. (EIBA)
VIBE is in close communication and dialogue with both of these bodies to ensure that the 'voice' of VI Bowls continues to be heard.
We are delighted to report that both bodies have finally approved the guidance for 'Permissible Aids for VI Bowlers in Otherwise-Sighted Games' and trust that, once disseminated to all BE and EIBA affiliated Clubs, this should reduce the incidence of VI players being discriminated against.
